J.S. Rae is a family-owned and operated business established in 1982. Joseph Rae started primarily as a welding service, primarily specializing in pipeline welding in the early years.
In 2003 son Scott Rae joined the company, and together started a directional drilling service, adding to the welding company. Shortly after, they started to add excavation equipment, dump trucks, and offer other services related to utility contracting and general construction. The two worked hard together to generate a reputation of excellence and good-working relationship with customers.
Over the next 20 years the company worked hard to keep up with the utility contracting needs in Western Massachusetts. J.S. Rae has added many services and crews year after year to meet the growing demand of its customers. Today J.S. Rae has a team of over one hundred knowledgeable, hardworking, and skilled individuals to meet the needs of today’s most difficult projects. The company primarily operates out of three Western Massachusetts locations including Springfield, Pittsfield and Shelburne Falls, MA.
